Although it was a four-day show, Angie had tickets for the Take That concert so made an early departure on the Saturday morning.

Heavy rain didn't deter the numbers of competitors and ground staff on the day ensured that the going was excellent throughout the show.

Cash jumped the Discovery class fresh and won it with a double clear.

On the Sunday, they jumped the warm-up class clear and Angie won it with her good mare Gibside Sarleen. The actual qualifier had approximately 30 entries. Angie and Cash were 13th to go, 12 clears went to second round, and they were the first combination to go clear, only to be joined by a further seven in the third round.

Quids In answered every call and came home clear, five seconds ahead of their rivals - a real achievement as this would be his first time against the clock! Second place and the remaining qualification ticket went to Robert Donaldson on his lovely mare Wild Lady. Although Angie had been training Cash at home over small fences, she wasn't expecting to have to replicate this at 1.15m-1.20m in the actual third round.

Cash even jumped the daunting water jump.

Angie and Quids In have already posted their four double clears for Discovery second rounds in 2010.
