 can lead to breathing difficulties, scientists revealed yesterday.

They found hot-headed young adults were far more likely to have problems with their lungs.

The link holds true even after factors such as smoking and asthma are taken into account.

Dr Benita Jackson, of Smith College in Massachusetts, said: "It's remarkable to see reductions in lung function during a time of life we think of as healthy.

"It appears that harbouring hostility hurts."

Researchers analysed 4,629 men and women aged 18 to 30 from four cities.

Participants filled in a questionnaire to assess anger and then blew into a machine which tests how much puff (algorithm) puff - To decompress data that has been crunched by Huffman coding. At least one widely distributed Huffman decoder program was actually *named* "PUFF", but these days it is usually packaged with the encoder.
