Anger at contract deal No2.A SECOND high profile councillor has been accused of breaking anti-sleaze rules over council contracts. Billy McAllister approved a pounds 700,000 land sale to a housing association - without declaring that he was on the organisation's management committee. Last week, McAllister, the SNP's deputy leader on the council, claimed Labour member Coleman had broken the councillors' code of conduct and demanded an urgent inquiry. But he was a member of the council's powerful executive committee, who approved the pounds 713,000 sale of land at Whitelaw Street to Maryhill Housing Association last June. He failed to declare at the time that he is an unpaid member of the housing association's management committee. Labour councillor Alex Glass said: "I will be writing to the Standards Commission to ask them to investigate this matter." Last night, McAllister said: "It has been a mistake. I apologise v. 1. same as apologize. Verb 1. apologise - defend, explain, clear away, or make excuses for by reasoning; "rationalize the child's seemingly crazy behavior"; "he rationalized his lack of success" . "I have declared interests in the past. This was an oversight
