Angels rolling in AL West

The Red Sox lost their sixth straight game to the Angels, who outscored Boston, 20-8, in a three-game sweep July 18-20 in Anaheim. However, the Red Sox have defeated Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  in nine consecutive postseason games, dating back to the final three games of the 1986 ALCS ALCS American League Championship Series (baseball)

Not only do the Angels have the best record in the majors - 65-40 - they are the only team that has the luxury of thinking about its playoff rotation. While everyone else is sweating out division and wild-card races, the Angels owned a 10-1/2 game bulge over second-place Texas entering last night's action.

So much for a select group
