Angels Reach Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving children with developmental delays and their families. It was founded by the parent of a child who had been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, but has been able to not only recover and lose the diagnosis, but to excel in comparison to same aged peers. Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder currently affecting 1 of 150 children in the United States. The disorder can severely affect a child's ability to communicate, learn, interact with the environment, and carry out basic daily living skills. With the appropriate intensive early intervention ear·ly intervention n. Abbr. EI A process of assessment and therapy provided to children, especially those younger than age 6, to facilitate normal cognitive and emotional development and to prevent developmental disability or delay. , many affected children can progress significantly. Angels Reach offers both individual and small group therapeutic programs which are customized to fit the needs of each child.
