A significant retirement community, the suburb grew rapidly in the late 20th cent., and more than doubled in size between 1990 and 2000. , FL Angelina Mero Pozzessere passed away May 24th, 2008, quietly, in her sleep. Until that moment, she was vital and a joy, regaling her family with stories and the world's best meatballs. " was born in Worcester, MA, July 2nd, 1920, the daughter of Angelo and Mary D'Onfrio Mero, Italian immigrants who worked hard to make a living in the states. She grew up off Shrewsbury Street with sisters Grace, Ida, and Delores and brothers Frank and John. During World War II, she married Alphonse Pozzessere and soon after moved to South Florida, but her home in Massachusetts Massachusetts (măsəch`sĭts), most populous of the New England states of the NE United States. remained in her heart. Widowed in 1996, she remained in South Florida where her son and daughter-in-law lived with their five children, Jason, Shayne, Derek, Bryee-Annon, and Chynna. Smart, funny, unique, she was truly a matriarch of her beloved family, and will be sorely sore·ly

She is survived by her brother John and sister-in-law, Joan; and sisters, Ida Mangiulli and Delores Law and brother-in-law George, sister-in-law Grace Mero, and ten nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nieces; her one beloved son, Dennis, daughter-in-law, Heather, and her five grandchildren GRANDCHILDREN, domestic relations.
