Angela Pamela uranium mine.

Thanks for giving some national exposure in the last edition to the passionate campaign by Alice Springs residents to stop the Angela Pamela uranium mine.

Angela Pamela is located just 25km from town and only 10km from the airport. If the mine goes ahead, both Alice Springs locals and visitors who come to this ancient arid landscape will be impacted.

Core samples have been drilled between the heritage listed Old Ghan Railway and the historic Overland Telegraph Line. If approved, the Angela Pamela mine threatens to guzzle our precious water supply, create radioactive dust clouds, and leave us with a 10,000 year plus radioactive tailings legacy--not to mention adding uranium to the international nuclear fuel and waste cycle.

Help is needed from supporters on the coast who know and love The Alice to make this a national issue. Please, let your Federal Member of Parliament know that you want the desert heart of Australia to remain nuclear free.
