Angela's a real winner; GENERAL MANAGER ANGELA CROLY.ANGELA CROLY joined Scotland's busiest five-a-side centre as a receptionist before working her way up to general manager. Angela, 36, of Stepps, Lanarkshire, says being a woman in such a testosterone-fuelled environment helps when passions boil over off the pitch. The Job: Responsible for overall running of Powerleague at Townhead in Glasgow. How I did it: I started as a fulltime receptionist with Pitz in 1988 after leaving school in Kilmarnock. Within six years I was assistant manager and two years later general manager. It was nerve-wracking at first and I kept phoning Sean for advice. I've been in the job 10 years now and can handle myself. I've banned teams for fighting but most are well behaved Adj. 1. well behaved - (usually of children) someone who behaves in a manner that the speaker believes is correct; "a well-behaved child" well-behaved . Sometimes a woman can defuse de·fuse tr.v. de·fused, de·fus·ing, de·fus·es 1. To remove the fuse from (an explosive device). 2. To make less dangerous, tense, or hostile: a situation more easily. Perks perk 1 v. perked, perk·ing, perks v.intr. 1. To stick up or jut out: dogs' ears that perk. 2. To carry oneself in a lively and jaunty manner. : I love the banter and the events side of the job. Five-year plan: The business is changing all the time. Glasgow is a flagship centre and I want to continue here. Tips: It's all about mucking in wherever you're needed. CAPTION(S): Banter: Angela |
