Record March Numbers Show Need is Climbing as Food Costs Rise Amidst Economic Slump

MONROE, Ga. -- Angel Food Ministries (www.angelfoodministries.com), an organization dedicated to providing affordable, high quality food to those in need, achieved its highest ever March distribution with 560,000 boxes distributed, and only second highest distribution numbers in its history, indicating further the growing need for affordable, quality food.

Angel Food Ministries provides boxes of food to more than 5000 communities in 39 states and feeds more than 320,000 families each year. Through Angel Food's benevolence funds, the organization has donated $560 thousand back into local communities and churches this month alone and more than $20 million since its inception.

The menu varies each month, and consists of both fresh and frozen items with an average retail value of approximately $60.
