 and several other Texas businesses to help raise emergency funds for victims of the Indian Ocean tsunami, by hosting the inaugural "Big Ol' Texas Weekend." The event will be held January 29 - 30th and will offer lift tickets discounts, live music, contests and a downhill race.

"We've planned on doing something to celebrate our Texas ties for a long time. But when this tragedy happened we knew we had to switch gears a bit," explains Jon Mahanna, general manager, Angel Fire Resort. "We've all seen the pictures from south Asia. It's heartbreaking and this is our small way of trying to do something, anything to help."

 Bock beer, will include a Big Texan Downhill Race on Angel Fire's Nastar racecourse on Saturday, where all Texans can compete for prizes. Amarillo-based restaurant, The Big Texan, will host a steak eating contest -- similar to what the steak restaurant along highway I-40 has become famous for: anyone who can eat a 72-ounce steak, in one hour, gets their meal free. The Big Texan will hold the steak eating contest on the Deck for all curious skiers to watch and the crowds will be entertained by legendary Lubbock band Locked and Loaded. All visitors who present a Texas state ID save $10 off their Sunday lift tickets during this special event weekend.
