MARTIN O'Neill last night branded Carlo Ancelotti "crazy" for dismissing Aston Villa's victory over Chelsea as just a set-piece success.

Headers by Richard Dunne and James Collins from corners secured a 2-1 win as Villa bounced back from Didier Drogba's fortuitous opener.

"I thought we played a good match but we lost this game on the set-plays and I don't like that," moaned the Chelsea manager.

"If you have to lose a game it is better that we lose when the other team plays better than us."

But O'Neill believes his side were good value for the victory.

Splendid "I think that's kind of crazy if that's the case," fumed O'Neill. "Chelsea, over the last five years, have won numerous games with set plays.

"World Cups have been decided on set plays and we have won the game today. I think that would be doing us a real disservice, that's part of the game.

"My overall view of the game is I thought we were splendid."

O'Neill was knocked off his feet when the Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka's momentum took him into the technical area.

"I thought he should have been sent off!" joked O'Neill. "It was really sore, but I took it like a man and I didn't cry.'' SEE MATCHDAY P12-13
