Andy sets off for an African adventure.HOLMFIRTH man Andy Bamforth has jetted off to Africa for a life-changing experience. Mr Bamforth has flown to Dar Es Salaam Dar es Salaam Largest city (pop., 1995 est.: 1,747,000), capital, and major port of Tanzania. Founded in 1862 by the sultan of Zanzibar, it came under the German East Africa Co. in 1887. in Tanzania as part of a month-long exchange scheme with Rotary International. Rotary International clubs in Yorkshire are sending a team of four people to Tanzania, Zanzibar and Nairobi. They will stay with African Rotary members and gain experience in their professional fields while working in demanding cultural situations. The team is led by former North Yorkshire North Yorkshire, county (1991 pop. 698,800), 3,209 sq mi (8,313 sq km), N England. The county comprises the districts of Craven, Hambleton, Harrogate, Richmondshire, Ryedale, Scarborough, Selby, and York. Chief Constable Noun 1. This visit is just one of many free group study exchange trips organised by the Rotary. Around 1,600 people each year go on the trips to learn about different cultures and gain further skills in their profession..
