Andy out to put bite on Rovers; Carroll's ready to hit back.

Byline: LEE RYDER

GEORDIE striker Andy Carroll Andrew Thomas "Andy" Carroll (born January 6, 1989 in Gateshead, England) is an English footballer. His position is forward and he currently plays for Preston North End.

Carroll attended Brighton Avenue Primary School and Joseph Swan School.
believes that Newcastle United can take out their frustration on Doncaster Rovers at St James's Park

figure at the final whistle on Tuesday night at Scunthorpe's tiny Glanford Park Glanford Park is a football (soccer) stadium in Scunthorpe, UK and the current home of Football League Championship team Scunthorpe United F.C..

It was the first time that an English football team had moved to a new purpose-built stadium.
ground after United slipped to their third defeat of the season, leaving them without a win in four games.

Carroll, though, feels that the comfort of a game back at St James's Park in front of a crowd of over 42,000 can be the tonic United need to get back in form - with a chance to reclaim top spot in the Coca-Cola Championship also up for grabs.

Carroll told the Chronicle: "We can't wait just get on with it after Scunthorpe.

"We're still hurting and we just want to get it out of our system.

"It was disappointing and everybody was down after the game.

"But we just have to get on with working hard and doing our jobs and we're confident we can make it happen."

Newcastle did dominate the clash at Scunny but ultimately couldn't finish off their chances, which handed the Iron a chance to record one of their most famous ever results.

Carroll reflected: "The game overall was bad because of the result.

"We understand that. "But the performance is something we can build on.

"We had a lot of chances and we just couldn't take them.

"If we can create as many again, maybe our luck can change in front of goal and we could be talking about a different scoreline scoreline n (SPORT) → resultado final

Carroll was also the victim of some physical treatment from Scunthorpe's ex-Gateshead defender Rob Jones, but the Academy product says he can handle the heat and aggressive nature of the second tier.

He said: "It has been tough and I have taken a few hits. But it won't stop me - I'll just keep going and do what I do. "You can't let it get you down, you just have to keep on playing." Now Carroll feels that it could be a different tale entirely at Gallowgate as Doncaster head for their big day out. He said: "It's going to be great to be back playing at St James's. "But we've got to make it count. "The fans have been great with us and we will be looking to repay them tomorrow. "If we can get the three points, it will give us all a big lift and we need it at the moment."
