Fullylove, an 18-year-old Midlander, took this year's 100-angler Barston Bowl by storm after weighing in 100lb 10oz from fancied peg 17.

The pegs near the car park produced a string of good carp weights and dominated, and Andy's Method tactics accounted for fish to 15lb, plus a few big skimmer skimmer, common name for certain sea birds resembling the related tern. Skimmers (genus Rhynchops) have long, laterally compressed bills of which the lower mandible is one fourth longer than the movable upper mandible.  bream bream: see sunfish.

He went home pounds 1,000 better off, and with the fantastic Barston Bowl silver trophy to keep for a year.

The second-placed angler was actually not pegged in the teens, but across the lake on peg 123, where Tim Bull fished long for an all-carp net going 73lb.

Last year's winner, Maurice Williams Maurice Williams may refer to:

* ANGLERS at British Waterways' Blythe Waters at Knowle have been left scratching their heads at the performances of Charlie Shaw, who has won five matches out of six.

Charlie, fishing under the Smart Baits banner, has won consecutive Tuesday and Wednesday opens, plus one of the Saturday matches with a combined weight of over 335lb.

Each time he has fished the same - pole-fishing paste and pellet. In fact, the only match he hasn't won lately was the Saturday event won by Andy Taft - and he came second in that.

* AT PACKINGTON Somers the bailiffs report Geary's Lake in its best form for years, with big carp bags coming from all areas.

A recent open match saw ten weights over 60lb, with an average catch of 54lb for the 21 anglers fishing.

A lot of fish are being caught down the inside margin, with short pole and paste, corn or meat all going well.

Along the high bank, a long cast to the middle stumps is also producing big catches.

Carp to the 18lb have been weighed in during matches, the average being in the 4-7lb range. Best pegs are 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 18, 28, 30, 31 and 36.
