It was founded in 1893 by Richard W. Sears (1863–1914) and Alvah C. Roebuck (1864–1948). . His 26 years at Sears included 18 years in marketing and 12 managing the Craftsman brand. He is a talented brand officer with relevant experience managing multiple brands, including Craftsman, Kenmore and Die Hard across numerous categories and channels.
