Andrx Expands Management Team; Adds Ian Watkins as Senior VP of Human Resources.

Andrx Corporation (Nasdaq:ADRX) today announced that Ian J. Watkins has joined the Company in a newly created position, Senior Vice President of Human Resources (HR), reporting directly to Richard J. Lane, Andrx's Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Watkins has more than nineteen years of HR experience, including thirteen years at Bausch and Lomb, Inc., a leader in ophthalmic medical products, with 12,000 employees and global revenues of $2 billion. Most recently at Bausch and Lomb, Mr. Watkins was corporate vice president, human resources, reporting to the chairman and CEO, a member of the corporate leadership team and officer of the corporation with global responsibility for the development and alignment of HR priorities against core business needs.

In his thirteen years at Bausch & Lomb, Mr. Watkins held positions of increasing responsibility. Prior to his position of Corporate VP of HR, he was VP of HR for Europe/Middle East and Africa, based out of London, England. Throughout his career, he has held a number of international assignments, including assignments with Ericsson Telecommunication and Marconi Command and Control Systems, both located in England. Mr. Watkins earned an HNC (Higher National Certificate) in Business and Finance from the Farnborough Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Sussex, Brighton.
