The newly announced plans represent an important upgrade to the Institute's Suzhou premises, which currently provide product training for Andrew customers from China, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia Southeast Asia, region of Asia (1990 est. pop. 442,500,000), c.1,740,000 sq mi (4,506,600 sq km), bounded roughly by the Indian subcontinent on the west, China on the north, and the Pacific Ocean on the east. .

) Training. These classrooms will include unique training areas with scale model towers and TMW antennas used in the intensive, hands-on training courses. The new Suzhou training center will be housed in Andrew Corporation's facility in the Suzhou/Singapore Industrial Park and will be completed by March 2001.

The Andrew Institute in Suzhou has two full-time, locally-trained, Mandarin-speaking trainers. The Institute also brings in course experts from any of its other facilities around the world. All Andrew Institute coursework, including presentations and printed materials, is offered in both English and Mandarin.

The Suzhou facility is one of six Andrew-owned and -operated training Institutes around the world. Suzhou's current capacity is for 10 students; however, when the expansion is completed the center will accommodate up to 30 students.

About the Andrew Institute

As with other Andrew Institutes around the world, the Suzhou facility provides up-to-date instruction on the latest products and techniques. This includes:

-- HELIAX(R) connector attachment training. This is ideal for

those who require assistance with fitting cables and

connectors or would benefit from expanded technical training

covering all aspects of HELIAX transmission line installation

and the latest industry techniques.

Andrew supplies all tools, materials and instruction documentation necessary for each course, and training can be provided either at a customer's site or at the Institute in Suhzou. Courses are customized to meet any level of technical requirement for terrestrial microwave, broadcast and wireless operators. The instructors' experience and thorough working knowledge of transmission line systems ensures that Institute course-work provides attendees with an extremely high level of education.

Andrew Institute attendees will be registered with Andrew as having completed Institute coursework and having been instructed on the correct procedures for handling Andrew products. As a result, these high-quality training courses have enabled users of Andrew products worldwide to gain valuable new skills that have increased their effectiveness and the performance of the systems they support.
