Andrew slashes Macintosh-to-host connectivity pricing; announces 35 percent price reductions.

, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 8, 1995--Andrew Corp. announces price reductions for two of its Macintosh-to-host connectivity products.

Effective Dec. 1, 1995, prices for the MacTwin(TM) emulation (architecture) emulation - When one system performs in exactly the same way as another, though perhaps not at the same speed. A typical example would be emulation of one computer by (a program running on) another.  card and the NetAxcess(R) gateway card will be lowered by 35 percent. The driving force for the price reductions is the Andrew commitment to providing customers with quality products at the lowest prices.

"Our current pricing is very competitive within the Macintosh connectivity market," said Willie Tims, product marketing manager. "This new pricing affirms the Andrew commitment to providing high-quality products at a low cost."

The MacTwin emulation card provides Macintosh users with a point-to-point solution for connection to an IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  System/3X or AS/400. The card installs in the internal expansion slot A receptacle inside a computer or other electronic system that accepts a printed circuit board. The number of slots determines future expansion. The NetAxcess gateway card allows the sharing of IBM midrange workstation sessions among Macs on an Appletalk network. Compatible with most network protocols including LocalTalk, EtherTalk and TokenTalk, the NetAxcess gateway also utilizes an expansion slot for installation in the Macintosh computer.
