Andrew Wright Andrew Wright (born September 4, 1971) is a Canadian multimedia artist from Waterloo, Ontario. He is best known for his work with video and large-scale photography. Life and Work
Andrew Wright was born in Cambridge, UK in 1971 and grew up in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
 rose to prominence somewhat prematurely when his unplaced competition entry to design a Buddhist retreat on Holy Island was selected as the Grand Award Winner at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition The Summer Exhibition is an open art exhibition held annually by the Royal Academy in Burlington House, Piccadilly in central London during the summer months of July and August..  in 1994. , Wright built on this success by setting up his own practice in 1997. In 2000 he was recognised as the Young Architect of the Year, in 2002 he finally qualified. Throughout this time, principally through research projects, Andrew Wright Associates have been earnestly developing expertise in sustainable planning and environmentally appropriate construction. This scheme extends these preoccupations, and proposes a new sports academy and landscape strategy for Scunthorpe Central Park. The academy buildings form a series of unified spaces that have an adapted resemblance to Nicholas Grimshaw's Eden Centre. With an envelope of gently domed and partly vegetated shells, the forms have been optimised to reduce the size of structural members. Direct and diffuse diffuse /dif·fuse/
