Andrew Wireless Products Receives ISO 14001 Certification.

Andrew Corporation's (NASDAQ:ANDW) Wireless Products facility in Addison, Illinois, has been awarded ISO 14001 certification for its manufacturing, sales, and distribution functions. Andrew Wireless Products produces antennas and cable assemblies for the automotive industry as well as cell phone accessories. The Andrew RF power amplifier design group is also located at Addison.

Andrew Wireless Products routinely recycles batteries and pallets and has implemented new and more efficient programs for recycling paper, cardboard, aluminum cans, computers, toner cartridges, and rejected production materials. As a supplier to the automotive industry, Andrew Wireless Products is currently focusing on the special requirements of this industry by reducing or eliminating the use of restricted materials in products. For example, the automotive industry has stated its intent to eliminate the use of galvanized steel on interior automotive parts by the end of 2003. Andrew Wireless Products aims to achieve this in 2002.

The new ISO 14001 certification is the latest step in a worldwide initiative to implement independently audited Environmental Management Systems at Andrew facilities. The Andrew Addison facility was independently assessed, audited, and certified by the British Standards Institution (BSI), a world leader in standards and quality management services.
