:ANDW) announced a contract to supply wireless infrastructure equipment and installation services for the expansion of the Hutchison Telecom Paraguay S.A. (formerly operating as Comunicaciones Personales S.A.-- Copesa) wireless services network in Paraguay.

Andrew and its Paraguayan agent Proseco, will supply and install the complete RF subsystem in the Asuncion area, along network Route Number 1 from Asuncion to the city of Encarnacion (south of Paraguay) and to several cities located on Route Number 2 from Asuncion to Ciudad del Este Ciudad del Este (Spanish for City of the East) is the capital of Alto Paraná department of Paraguay, located at the Rio Paraná at .  (east of Paraguay). Antennas, cables, and accessories for the contract have been ordered, and installation will take place during the last quarter of calendar year 2001.

), part of the Hutchison Telecom Group, is licensed to provide mobile services nationwide in Paraguay using the 1900 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  spectrum. HTP (an existing Paraguayan operator known as Copesa at the time of Hutchison's acquisition in July 2000) was relaunched with an expanded network and increased subscriber capacity in March 2001. The contract with Andrew will increase HTP's capacity to provide mobile phone services to the community in Paraguay.

Andrew with its global network of manufacturing plants, including a newly expanded manufacturing facility in Paraguay's neighboring country of Brazil, is well placed to bring locally manufactured product into the HTP network. Andrew will supply a complete RF subsystem including: base station antennas; HELIAX(R) coaxial cable, connectors, and installation accessories; and tower-mounted amplifiers that will accelerate HTP's expansion process. Proseco, Andrew Corp.'s agent in Paraguay, will supply communication towers, installation, and local technical support.
