Andrew Seybold's Summit 4Mobility 2000, the first-ever top executive conference on Wireless Internet and Mobile Computing Using a computing device while in transit. Mobile computing implies wireless transmission, but wireless transmission does not necessarily imply mobile computing. Fixed wireless applications use satellites, radio systems and lasers to transmit between permanent objects such as buildings , ended its three-day run at the Arizona Biltmore, Scottsdale, last week with about 175 attendees departing with new perspectives, new alliances and relationships, and for many, the resolution to return for Summit 4Mobility 2001, Andrew Seybold said today.

The conference was hailed as "refreshingly different" by some, exemplified by the comment of James Hobbs, vice president of BellSouth Wireless See BellSouth Intelligent Wireless Network. , who said: "It was about time somebody put together a show without all of the same old people."

Robert J. Hirsh, executive director of new business development at Bell Atlantic Mobile, commented: "This meeting was right on target: robust agenda; every session informative and interesting; productive use of everybody's time; a full program from early morning to evening -- which is what you want if you invest your time to come."

Seybold assigned credit for the event's successful debut to its cohosts and sponsors, as well as to the executives who gave of their time in order to participate in the Summit program.
