Do not let the unfortunate title fool you: this book is not written for the Redbook set and Andrew Sean Greer is actually a gifted author, not so much a stylist but nice with the metaphors and textural with detail. "How hollow, to have no secrets left; you shake yourself and nothing rattles rattles

vernacular for purulent bronchopneumonia in foals with pneumonia caused by Rhodococcus equi; name derived from the moist, loud crackles heard on auscultation of the lungs.
. You're boneless Bone´less

a. 1. Without bones.

Adj. 1. boneless - being without a bone or bones; "jellyfish are boneless"
 as an anemone anemone (ənĕm`ənē) or windflower, any of the perennial herbs, wild or cultivated, of the genus Anemone of the family Ranunculaceae (buttercup family). ." A tangled relationship story set in 1953, the first few chapters of this book set up the perfect scene for an ill noir noir  
adj.
1. Of or relating to the film noir genre.

2. Of or relating to a genre of crime literature featuring tough, cynical characters and bleak settings.

3. Suggestive of danger or violence.
 mystery. Unfortunately, Greer doesn't really go for it and spoils the set-up before the book is half-through, turning it into a softbaked meditation on identity in pre-liberated America. The writing is nice, but Greer, yo, save the climax for the end, smell me?
