Andrew NXT-G Ultra-Light Equipment Shelter Weighs in at 2001 Tower Summit & Trade Show; Booth 903, Paris Hotel Exhibit Hall, Las Vegas, Nevada, Oct. 29-30.Business Editors 2001 Tower Summit & Trade Show ORLAND PARK, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 24, 2001 Andrew Corporation (NASADQ: ANDW) will unveil its NXT NXT - Next-G Ultra-Light equipment shelter at the Tower Summit show in Las Vegas, Nevada, October 29 to 30. Andrew NXT-G Ultra-Light shelters are lightweight, rugged, factory-assembled, and are easily transported to difficult site locations such as rooftops, off-road terrain, and sites with restricted space. The shelters are also offered in kit form for assembly on-site. "Customers are faced with the increasingly difficult task of finding suitable sites for equipment shelters," said Jeff Ward, Product Line Manager for Andrew Corporation's shelters division. "The new NXT-G Ultra-Light shelter is quite simply the best shelter on the market for a site where the weight and maneuverability of the shelter is an issue." The NXT-G Ultra-Light shelter has lightweight construction that enables easier shipping, offloading and installation. NXT-G Ultra-Light shelters are intended for weight-sensitive sites but are built tough and can be offloaded with a crane or just a forklift. If site access for a pre-assembled shelter is impossible or impractical, then the NXT-G Ultra-Light shelter can also be supplied in kit form and assembled on-site by Andrew Systems, Inc. Installation is faster and less expensive than other traditional on-site constructions. The NXT-G Ultra-Light shelter features steel construction that prevents long-term damage from weather and insects. Lighter weight equipment shelters are more commonly constructed from wood and plywood that is prone to weather and termite damage. The new shelters also have heavily insulated wall panels that help to reduce energy expenses. A smooth exterior finish is standard, and attractive and camouflage exterior finishes, such as exposed aggregate, brick, and others, can be provided to meet local zoning requirements. A variety of exterior paint options are available. To meet local fire code requirements, the new shelter's wall construction can be upgraded to a one or two hour fire rating. If the shelter site is near a known hunting area, or if safety is a concern, the shelter specifications can be upgraded to conform to various bullet-resistance ratings. Floors and roofs are designed to meet given support loads and will conform to or exceed all national and state code requirements. Equipment shelters protect a valuable and costly investment in electronics or other equipment from rain, snow, ice, and vandals.
