Originally named Nova University of Advanced Technology,[7] the university was chartered by the state of Florida in 1964[8][9] as a graduate institution in the physical and social sciences. Morton, born in Yorkshire, England in 1953, joined the Mirror Group Newspapers training scheme in the West Country, working on several weekly and Sunday newspapers. After qualifying, he worked on national newspapers in Manchester before moving to Fleet Street in 1981. During that time, he wrote several books on the royal family, including a biography of Prince Andrew and a history of the royal yacht, Britannia. In 1988, he left newspapers to concentrate on writing books. Since then he has been the author of numerous best-selling books about the royal family, including, Diana: Her True Story (1992). In 1992 he won the British Author of the Year prize and was given an award for services to journalism. Morton was educated in Leeds and at Sussex University, where he earned an honors degree in history. He lives in North London with his wife and two children. The Fort Lauderdale Luncheon Forum will be held at the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel at 1825 Griffin Road in Dania Beach.
