:ANDW) launched two new multi-band Cell-Max(TM) antennas for GSM, PCS (1) (Personal Communications Services) Refers to wireless services that emerged after the U.S. government auctioned commercial licenses in 1994 and 1995. This radio spectrum in the 1. , and 3G frequency bands. The new antennas can be used to enhance wireless coverage for in-building and other coverage extension applications. Areas where Cell-Max antennas may be used effectively include office buildings, parking garages, airports, and shopping malls.

Cell-Max Omnidirectional In all directions. For example, an omnidirectional antenna can transmit or receive signals in all directions. Contrast with directional. See RF.  In-Building Antennas are intended primarily for enhancing wireless coverage in indoor applications and are designed for ease of installation and minimal visual impact. The new antenna features a low-profile multi-band radiating element incorporated in a small and unobtrusive housing. The omnidirectional pattern of the antenna makes it a versatile option for installation in difficult coverage areas.  of 1.8 or better across all frequency bands. The antenna dimensions are just 182 mm in diameter and only 41 mm in height.

Cell-Max Directional Antennas can be used to enhance internal or external wireless coverage. These antennas are designed for ease of installation - install in minutes with standard tools - and minimum visual impact. Ideally suited for in-building applications.

Cell-Max Directional Antennas can also be weatherproofed for outdoor applications. With a broad bandwidth to cover adjacent frequencies, the antennas can support ESMR/Cellular, GSM and PCS/GSM1800/UMTS deployments. VSWR is 1.5:1 or better across all frequency bands, with gain greater than 7.5 dBi.

Compact and visually unobtrusive, both new Cell-Max antennas are offered with either a female SMA connector or a low-loss RG58 coaxial "pigtail A cable that has an appropriate connector on one end and loose wires on the other. It is designed to patch into an existing line or to terminate the ends of a long run. Contrast with patch cord. " with integral connector. All Cell-Max models designated for external applications have fully weatherproofed antenna housings.

Cell-Max antennas are appropriate for extending coverage in existing wireless communications systems. By integrating Cell-Max antennas with other Andrew in-building products - such as the In-Cell(TM) fiber optic distributed antenna system As defined by PCIA - the Wireless Infrastructure Association, and it's DAS Forum, A Distributed Antenna System ,or DAS, is a network of spatially separated antenna nodes connected to a common source via a transport medium that provides wireless service within a geographic area or , and RADIAX(R) cable, taps and accessories - users can create a complete solution for distributed communications.
