Andrew J. Weiner named among City's top lawyers.


The 2004 International Who's Who The International Who's Who is a guidebook to notable people worldwide. It has been published annually since 1941 by Europa Publications, an imprint of Taylor and Francis.  of Real Estate Lawyers has selected Morrison & Foerster partner Andrew J. Weiner for inclusion. Mr. Weiner is one of only 35 New York attorneys selected.

Andrew J. Weiner is co-chair of Morrison & Foerster's real estate group. Recently, he was named chair of the real estate group of Lex Mundi, the world's leading association of independent law firms, of which Morrison & Foerster is a member.

Mr. Weiner is experienced in all areas of real estate practice. He has represented domestic and foreign clients in all phases of real estate financing, acquisition, leasing and development, and in restructurings, foreclosures and bankruptcies. He has represented sponsors and advisory firms in the formation and implementation of domestic and international funds for the acquisition of hotels and other real estate assets. His practice has been national and international in scope, involving significant transactions in all regions of the United States and real estate development in England, Russia and Argentina. Having been based in New York for his entire career, he has a thorough understanding of the New York real estate practice and market. Mr. Weiner has considerable expertise in coordinating the real estate aspects of multi-property, multi-jurisdictional projects, including leveraged buy-outs and other corporate acquisitions. He has been listed by the International Financial Law Review in its "Guide to the World's Leading Real Estate Lawyers" and by Law Business Research Ltd. in its "International Who's Who of Real Estate Lawyers."

Mr. Weiner has written on a variety of real estate and tax topics for such publications as the New York Law Journal Founded in 1888, the New York Law Journal is the top-selling legal daily in the United States. The newspaper covers legal news, decisions, court calendars, and legislation, and provides analysis and insight in columns written by leading professionals. , the Journal of Taxation, AFIRE News and Urban Land. He has lectured on real estate topics for the Association of the Bar of the City of New York The Association of the Bar of the City of New York, also known as the New York City Bar, was established in 1871. The association has about 19,435 members. The House of the Association, at 42 West 44th Street, was built in 1896 and is a registered landmark.  and NACORE and has participated in seminars on real estate topics in California, Hong Kong, Tokyo and New York. Prior to his graduation from law school, Mr. Weiner held positions with the New York City Department of City Planning The Department of City Planning is a governmental agency of New York City responsible for setting the framework of city's physical and socioeconomic planning. The department is responsible for land use and environmental review, preparing plans and policies, and providing , the Urban Land Institute and the Ralph Nader Congress Project.
