Andrew Corporation has provided systems integrator CHK Engineering with HELIAX(R) cable and connectors for enabling in-building RF coverage in Asia's largest shopping mal. The new system allows mobile phone users to receive coverage in Taiwan's Core Pacific City Living Mall.

The 205,000 square meter Core Pacific City Living Mall in Taipei, Taiwan, is 19 stories high and has seven underground levels. The vision for the mall is that of a 24-hour "living mall" environment that integrates shopping, entertainment activities, and on-line services.

The wireless project enables mall visitors to access the services of all of Taiwan's major networks, including those of ChungHwa Telecom Co, Taiwan Cellular Corp, Far Eastone Telecommunications Co, and KG Telecommunications services.

Set to attract 36 million visitors a year, the Core Pacific City mall has more than 1,000 outlets, integrating high-class boutiques, shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and multi-function performance venues as well as Internet services into a "living area" for the public.

Installation at the new mall, which was formally opened on 23 November last year, has already been completed.
