Andrew Corporation Revises Product Group Structure.

ORLAND PARK, Ill. -- Andrew Corporation, a global communications systems equipment supplier, has created a product group focused entirely on satellite communications, while combining antennas and cable products into a single organization.

Paul Cox, former president, Antenna Group, will serve as president, Satellite Communications Group. John DeSana, former president, Cable Products Group, will serve as president of the newly-combined Antenna and Cable Products Group.

"These changes will provide a direct and responsive decision-making process across each product group that is consistent with the end-market application."

In his new role with satellite communications, Cox will oversee a product group that has annualized sales of approximately $175 million and an addressable market that exceeds $1 billion. Its products include consumer DBS (direct broadcast satellite), professional VSAT (very small aperture terminal), earth station satellite, and systems for various government and military applications. Cox joined Andrew in September 2000 as vice president, Satellite Products/Systems and Government Antennas, after 16 years of service with the space and technology group of EMS Technologies, Inc. He was named president, Antenna Group, in February 2001.

The Antenna and Cable Products Group under DeSana's leadership has annualized sales of approximately $800 million. Its products, primarily sold direct to operators worldwide, consist of the entire former Cable Products Group, and the wireless infrastructure and terrestrial microwave divisions of the former Antenna Product Group. DeSana joined Andrew in March 1991 as operations manager, Cable Products, and has served as a product group president since November 1998.
