Andrew Corporation Introduces the PROPAGATOR PCS-1900 Repeater; New Repeater Solves Issue of Improving RF Signal Levels for In-building Wireless Communications.Business Editors ORLAND PARK Or·land Park A village of northeast Illinois, a residential and manufacturing suburb of Chicago. Population: 53,300. , Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 23, 2001 Andrew Corporation's PROPAGATOR(TM) PCS-1900 repeater is a new solution for augmenting wireless coverage in in-building areas - such as hospitals, sports stadiums, convention centers, hotels, factories, and office buildings - where RF signal penetration is restricted. One single package contains all the necessary processing components, including the pre-aligned donor and broadcast antennas on the opposite faces of the repeater. This dramatically lowers installation costs and labor. Typical installation time for the PROPAGATOR PCS (1) (Personal Communications Services) Refers to wireless services that emerged after the U.S. government auctioned commercial licenses in 1994 and 1995. This radio spectrum in the 1. 1900 repeater is less than fifteen minutes. "The PROPAGATOR is ideal for extending coverage in small to medium-sized areas and venues," said Matt Melester, Andrew Corporation's Business Area Director, In-Building Solution. " It is an inexpensive way to quickly provide infrastructure where added or improved wireless services are needed." The PROPAGATOR is particularly suitable for areas where the sheer volume of pre-stressed concrete in pillars and walls obstruct RF signal penetration and radiation. Used singly or in groups, PROPAGATOR repeaters can be installed easily and quickly to improve wireless coverage at a much lower cost than conventional repeater systems. Three models of PROPAGATOR PCS-1900 repeaters are available, covering the lower, middle, and upper 20 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc. segments of the PCS 1900 frequency band. PROPAGATOR PCS-1900 repeaters are just 15-1/8 inches square by 3-3/4 inches deep. Each repeater comes complete with flexible mounting hardware for easy wall, ceiling, or window installation. A Received Signal Strength Indicator is provided with each unit. The PROPAGATOR requires standard US 110 Vac outlets for operating power. For further information, call the Andrew Customer Support Center at 1-800-255-1479 and request Bulletin Number 10603.
