Most commonly using wireline and core bits with diamond encrusted matrix. To drill holes to max depths of twelve thousand feet, for the recovery of core used in verifying mineral on their Winicocha Property in Cusco, Peru. The drill program comprised 11 diamond drill holes for 3640 meters and tested several induced polarisation geophysical anomalies over approximately 10% of the property area. The results for copper ranged from 1 ppm to 1.14% Cu. The results for gold ranged from below method detection limit (less than 1ppb ppb abbr. parts per billion ) to 2.68 g/t Au. All drill holes intersected copper and gold mineralization Mineralization The process by which the body uses minerals to build bone structure. Mentioned in: Rickets mineralization, n the bioprecipitation of an inorganic substance. . The largest significant intersection returned 83 metres at 0.28% copper equivalent and the best gold intersection returned 3.9 meters at 2.45 g/t gold (Table 1). Intersections of gold and copper are associated with multiple sills of felsic fel·sic adj. Containing a group of light-colored silicate minerals that occur in igneous rocks. [fel(dspar) + s(ilica) + -ic. intrusive and magnetite magnetite (măg`nətīt), lustrous black, magnetic mineral, Fe3O4. This type of geology has similarities to the Yanacocha District in northern Peru (mineralization associated with sills), and also the Tintaya, Las Bambas, and Constancia (mineralized min·er·al·ize v. min·er·al·ized, min·er·al·iz·ing, min·er·al·iz·es v.tr. 1. There are areas of significant lead and zinc values and these indicate that the drilling program likely intersected the outer halo of a porphyry Porphyry, Greek scholar Porphyry (pôr`fĭrē), c.232–c.304, Greek scholar and Neoplatonic philosopher. Andresmin's President, Mr. Dean de Largie, said, "The drilling program has shown that the area drilled on the Winicocha property intersected copper, gold and molybdenum molybdenum (məlĭb`dənəm) [Gr.,=leadlike], metallic chemical element; symbol Mo; at. no. 42; at. wt. 95.94; m.p. about 2,617°C;; b.p. about 4,612°C;; sp. gr. 10.22 at 20°C;; valence +2, +3, +4, +5, or +6. mineralization with some significant intersections of lead and zinc. There have been several intrusive events ranging from syenite syenite (sī`ənīt), coarse-grained igneous rock, similar in appearance and composition to granite. Unlike granite, it contains little or no quartz. The chief minerals in syenite are the feldspars, with mica, hornblende, and pyroxene. to quartz-monzonite to monzodiorite. In the area drilled, these have intruded limestone forming multiple sills with very strong magnetite skarn alteration. Mineralization is strongly associated with the skarn environment and is also present in some intrusive phases unrelated to skarn alteration. This information will now be used to guide subsequent exploration and drilling programs." Mr. de Largie went on to say, "Winicocha remains a property of significant potential both for porphyry copper-gold and high sulphidation gold mineralization. The geology of the property is complex in that whilst the porphyry -- skarn complex is most obvious in the area drilled, high-sulphidation affinities are present in other areas of the property. For example, in the southern part of the property advanced argillic alteration represented by kaolinite kaolinite (kā`əlĭnīt), clay mineral crystallizing in the monoclinic system and forming the chief constituent of china clay and kaolin. quartz limonite limonite (līm`ənīt) or brown hematite (hĕm`ətīt, hē`–), yellowish to dark brown mineral, a hydrated oxide of iron, FeO(OH)·nH2 and powdery pow·der·y adj. 1. This style of alteration is visible over a total strike length of three kilometres and has significant anomalous gold geochemistry at surface. This area is yet to be drill tested and offers the potential for an oxide gold resource in an argillic litho lith·o n. pl. lith·os A lithograph. litho Noun pl -thos Adjective, adv short for lithography, lithograph, cap below which a porphyry copper system may be present."
