Ando Corporation announced today that its AU1500 IP Core Network Probe has been certified by Concord Communications as eHealth(TM) Ready. The certification includes the AU1500's standard RMON2 reporting, traps and alarms as well as Ando's unparalleled Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) functionality.

The AU1500 is the industry's first probe to offer detailed layer 2 to 7 monitoring for high-speed IP core networks. The AU1500's statistics reporting capabilities encompass standard RMON2 reporting (packet and byte counts by application protocols, nlHost/alHost, nlMatrix/alMatrix, priority, TopN, User History, and much more) and, along with Ando's recently announced MPLS software upgrade, also offers an unsurpassed level of MPLS VPN and MPLS LSP statistics support. Especially remarkable is the fact that the AU1500 can provide this unprecedented depth of statistical information at wire-speed and in real time up to OC-48c (2.5 Gbit/s).

At the heart of Ando's solution is a robust hardware accelerated statistics engine that is custom designed to handle the speed and volume of traffic analysis on an IP core network link, thereby giving the AU1500 the ability to outperform embedded or software based solutions. Moreover, the AU1500 is a passive device that connects to the carrier network via an optical coupler and therefore does not introduce additional points of failure into the network or degrade router performance.

Ando is currently completing carrier customer network trials of the AU1500. The AU1500 IP Core Network Probe and the MPLS software upgrade will be available in June 2002. The AU1500 is certified as of eHealth 5.0.2 D03 which will be available from Concord Communications in June.
