Anderson markets 130 William St.

George N. Georgitseas, president of Anderson Organization, Inc. has announced that the new owners of 130 William Street (which will be now called The Heyden Building) have launched an extensive renovation program that will improve their building substantially and bring out its full potential.

The first phase of this renovation involves a new facade for the building. The preliminary design has been already executed and the detailed plans are being prepared in anticipation of the actual construction. The design firm selected for this renovation project is JCS Design Associates Inc. JCS has completed over 50 lobby and facade renovations, including The Chrysler Building, The Scribner Building and The Hearst Corporate Headquarters

Once the facade work has been completed, the next phase will include redesigning the art deco lobby. In the meantime there will be considerable work done on the elevators in order to improve their performance and efficiency. The building has six elevators so there will be no inconvenience to tenants or visitors while the renovation is under way. This is actually a major concern to the owners and the project will be executed in phases in order to produce minimum or zero inconvenience to the building's tenants. Although Georgitseas did not divulge exact figures, it is estimated that the project will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, which confirms the commitment of the new ownership.

Rentals are expected to rise with the improvement of the building and the strengthening of the market. The building's tenant roster consists mainly of insurance and law firms and the management will concentrate on building on this prestigious clientele.

The Anderson Organization has substantial experience in extensive renovations on behalf of its clients with projects including 576 Fifth Avenue, 152 Madison Avenue, 34 West 32nd Street and more recently, 25 West 451h Street and 56 West 451h Street.
