This collection of 15 short stories would be a useful resource for teachers of grades 1-8 whose social studies curriculum covers the time period from the Boston Tea Party Boston Tea Party, 1773. In the contest between British Parliament and the American colonists before the Revolution, Parliament, when repealing the Townshend Acts, had retained the tea tax, partly as a symbol of its right to tax the colonies, partly to aid the  to the inauguration of George Washington. Listening to these stories could help students develop a deeper understanding of what life was like during the American Revolution. The children in these stories represent a variety of cultural backgrounds. Each chapter contains a brief nonfiction introduction and conclusion. Ages 8 up.
