I demand a rethink. Could you imagine if it caught on and the airlines built their unique selling points into their wedding packages? Alitalia could have opera singers up the front. EasyJet would insist on all guests being fake tanned to a radiant shade of orange.

On Cathay Pacific flower girls would throw lotus blossoms in the aisle.

And Ryanair will come up with a vastly inflated, non-refundable surcharge for a vicar. Tax extra.
