And the awardees are ...Dance Theater Workshop and the 2003 Bessies Committee, in association with Danspace Project and the Joyce Theater, handed out twenty five citations honoring thirty-four individuals or organizations for achievements in the 2002-03 season. Recipients of Choreographer/Creator Awards were Penny Arcade, Derek Bernstein and Amy Sue Rosen, DD Dorvillier, Noemie Lafrance, Sarah Michelson, Vicki Shirk and Barbara Kilpatrick, RoseAnne Spradlin, and Yasuko Yokoshi. The Installation and New Media Award went to Marina Abramovic. The year's Performer Awards also were given to Germaul Yusef Barnes, Christine Dakin Henry Drysdale 1880-1952. British chemist noted for his study of antiseptics. He developed Dakin's solution, which was widely used in treating wounds during both World Wars and is still used as a disinfectant. |
