And the Winners Are... KRAFT Macaroni and Cheese Unveils the New Blue Box Kids in New York City.


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 25, 1999--Today at a New York New York, state, United States

 photo studio, twelve special kids "tasted fame" as they were announced as the winners of the second annual "I Want the Blues!" contest. The new "Blue Box Kids'" smiles will appear on the front of more than 20 million special edition boxes of KRAFT Macaroni macaroni: see pasta.  & Cheese distributed nationwide this fall. Plus, each of the lucky winners will receive a college scholarship worth $10,000 and are currently enjoying a family vacation in New York City New York City: see New York, city.

I Want The Blues!

"We're so pleased to introduce the new `Blue Box Kids'," said Boris Oglesby of the KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese team. "Excitement for the contest continues to grow; in its second year, we received nearly 20,000 entries."

     Winning entries from this year included:

     -    Justin Cooper of San Francisco, age 7, says `cheese' with an
          interactive drawing of his pearly whites that shows much he
          loves KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese.

     -    Benjamin J. Miller, age 12, of Loomis, Calif., tickles the
          ivories in a colorful drawing of his "KRAFT"-y little
          concert about mac & cheese.

     -    Makayla McCoskey, age 5, of Farmington Hills, Mich., has
          oodles of noodles and cheese in her delectable drawing. Even
          a mouse wants a taste of "The Cheesiest(TM)."


To enter the contest, kids ages four through twelve, shared why they love KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese through clever rhymes, short stories or colorful drawings. Entries were collected through mail and at nationwide retail events where kids entered the "I Want the Blues" contest and met the KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese dinosaur dinosaur (dī`nəsôr) [Gr., = terrible lizard], extinct land reptile of the Mesozoic era. The dinosaurs, which were egg-laying animals, ranged in length from 2 1-2 ft (91 cm) to about 127 ft (39 m).  mascot MASCOT - Modular Approach to Software Construction Operation and Test: a method for software design aimed at real-time embedded systems from the Royal Signals and Research Establishment, UK. , Cheesasaurus Rex(TM).

Blue Carpet The Blue Carpet is a piece of Public Art in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England, designed by Thomas Heatherwick. Although classified as a piece of public art, it is closer to an urban design feature.  Treatment

The twelve winners' trip to New York City began with a caravan of stretch "4 x 4" limousines taking them to a glamorous photo shoot with acclaimed child photographer, Rudy Le Coadic, where their photos were taken for the front of the famous Blue Box. The event was topped off with a kid-friendly feast featuring KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese, of course. The grand finale weekend includes a tour of New York City's famed attractions and a stop by the theater for Broadway's "Beauty and the Beast Beauty and the Beast is a traditional fairy tale (type 425C -- search for a lost husband -- in the Aarne-Thompson classification). The first published version of the fairy tale was a meandering rendition by Madame Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, published in " where the winners will meet the cast.
