Boston is the capital and most populous city of Massachusetts.[3] The largest city in New England, Boston is considered the unofficial economic and cultural center of the entire New
 and perch at the Saville Exchange, North Shields on Monday for a night of New Orleans-style traditional jazz. It is the only North East show for the globe-circling band who have shared a platform with the Boston Symphony Orchestra Boston Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1881 by Henry Lee Higginson, who was its director and financial backer until 1918. The orchestra performed at the Old Boston Music Hall for nearly 20 years until Symphony Hall was built in 1900; its concerts continue to be held  among others in their 30-year history. Tickets are now on sale for the Fifth Customs House International Guitar Festival in South Shields and the expanded event now runs to five days, from July 21-25. Otis Grand & The Big Blues Band will open the event followed by Ralph McTell (22nd) , Kelly Joe Phelps (23rd), James Birkett & Rod Sinclair at 5.30pm and Glenn Tilbrook at 7.30pm on the 24th. The final day sees Brendan Croker, Steve Phillips and Eric Roche wrap things up. There will be guitar tuition workshops on both Saturday and Sunday so guitarists of all levels stand to benefit from tips passed on by the event's performers.
