Ancient medieval buildings found beneath Cathedral Square in Britain.

London, April 29 (ANI): Archaeologists Archaeology is a discipline that was virtually unknown until the 19th century. Archaeology, originally an amateur pastime, is becoming increasingly popular, and it is now possible for archaeologists to become minor celebrities as a result of media exposure.  excavating beneath Cathedral Square Cathedral Square is often the name of the square located in front of the main cathedral of a city.

Up to six archaeologists a day have been working on the site for several weeks in preparation for the main square improvement works, which are being delivered by Opportunity Peterborough and Peterborough City Council.

"It's not often we get a chance to dig holes in the middle of town. Our finds are significant in the development of Peterborough because there have been very few excavations in the historic core.
