Anchor Financial Corporation Announces Two-for-One Stock Split.


MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 14, 1995--The Board of Directors of Anchor Financial Corporation today approved a two-for-one stock split, payable on September 29, 1995, to shareholders of record on September 1, 1995.

Currently, the Corporation has 4,000,000 shares of common stock authorized au·thor·ize

1. To grant authority or power to.

2. To give permission for; sanction:
, $6.00 par value per share, of which 1,270,210 shares are issued and outstanding, and 136,786 shares are subject to options. After the two-for-one split, the Corporation will have 4,000,000 shares of common stock authorized, $6.00 par value, of which 2,540,420 shares will be issued and outstanding, and 273,572 shares will be subject to options. Shareholders of record on September 1, 1995 will be issued new stock certificates reflecting the additional shares later in that month.

In making the announcement, Stephen L. Chryst, president and chief executive officer, stated, "The action taken by our board of directors today is further evidence of the Corporation's continued strong financial performance and expansion during the past five years."
