Groundbreaking Interactive 3D Application Realistically Demonstrates System-Wide Operations of Moog's Aircraft Flight Control Systems

BOULDER, Colo. -- Anark Corporation, leading provider of advanced visualization solutions for the aerospace industry, announced today the launch of an interactive three-dimensional (3D) application illustrating a complete civil aircraft flight control system. This application will be used by Moog to illustrate the operational functions of their proprietary primary and secondary flight control systems at trade shows, customer focused presentations, and recruiting events.

The challenge of communicating complex flight control systems prompted Moog to search for a solution capable of creating a 3D virtual simulation of an aircraft's onboard systems. By using Anark's interactive visualization solution Moog deployed a more effective and realistic system overview while significantly reducing the costs associated with physical models and prototypes.

The interactive marketing application displays a virtual 3D rendering of a commercial aircraft in which audiences can view the operation of key flight control products within a transparent fuselage and interact with the detailed components in a 360o environment. A complete "stick-to-tail" Flight Control System is integrated into the virtual aircraft, including pilot interfaces, flight control computer, electronic controllers, and actuators for controlling the leading and trailing edge wings surfaces. Users can initiate a variety of events, such as controlled turns, each triggering a series of 3D simulations that illustrate how Moog's components are engaged in flight operations.

This application will enhance Moog's marketing communication capabilities, providing numerous high-level demonstrations such as:

* System-wide 3D views of component interaction through a variety of flight operations.

* Detailed component views of actuator mechanical operations.

* User-driven navigation controls, offering the ability to pan, zoom, and rotate 360o through a virtual environment while freely selecting component and system operations.
