Anam Selects InTime for Pre-RTL Insight Into Chip Size and Power; Automated Chip Estimation System Prevents Design Re-Spins, Saves Time and Money.

CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 1, 2002

InTime InTIME Cardiology A clinical trial–Intravenous nPA for Treatment of Infarcting Myocardium Early–comparing efficacy of a weight-adjusted single bolus of nPA/lanoteplase to tPA–administered by infusion in restoring blood flow to the heart in Pts  Software, an EDA (1) (Electronic Design Automation) Using the computer to design, lay out, verify and simulate the performance of electronic circuits on a chip or printed circuit board.  company, today announced that Anam Semiconductor Inc. of Bucheon, Korea, has purchased Time Architect(TM) (formally called DesignArena(TM)), InTime's system for pre-RTL chip estimation and preliminary floor planning software.

Anam's design service group is standardizing on Time Architect to improve chip size and power estimates made at the earliest stage of an IC chip design.

"Time Architect is a powerful estimation tool, and very easy to use. We have tested it against our proven methods and found it provides very accurate estimates. We will rely on Time Architect to quickly assess size and power for all new IC designs," commented Dr. Park, Vice president of Anam. "Getting accurate estimates in minutes enables Anam to analyze numerous design trade-offs and allows us to come up with better engineering solutions for our customers."

About Time Architect

Time Architect predicts chip area, power, and yield, and enables designers to quickly compare the impact of different Intellectual Property (IP) components on complex integrated circuits. The analysis is done in minutes, and the system generates datasheets and a preliminary floorplan that can be used by the RTL (Register Transfer Level) A high-level hardware description language (HDL) for defining digital circuits. The circuits are described as a collection of registers, Boolean equations, control logic such as "if-then-else" statements as well as complex event sequences;  design team at the next stage of the design process. The floorplan encapsulates information on power pads, power mesh overhead, area utilization around hard macros, clock tree size and routing utilization, which can be passed directly into the InTime RTL planning system. Time Architect comes with a built-in catalogue of memory and IP blocks, and simple automation tools that easily incorporate customer IP for consideration in "what if" analyses.

More About InTime's Products

InTime's products accelerate the design flow through existing synthesis and place and route systems for today's most complex IC designs. They integrate into design environments using industry standard synthesis and place and route systems, including those from Cadence (NYSE NYSE

About Anam Semiconductor Inc.

Anam Semiconductor provides total solutions for semiconductor chips, from physical design, mask-making, and fabrication to packaging, testing, and even entire turnkey systems. Anam manufactures customized System-on-a-Chip (SoC) non-memory products such as DSP (1) (Digital Signal Processor) A special-purpose CPU used for digital signal processing applications (see definition #2 below). It provides ultra-fast instruction sequences, such as shift and add, and multiply and add, which are commonly used in math-intensive  embedded mobile communication chips as well as embedded memory and mixed signal products. Also, the company is developing and securing various IP and libraries which will enable fabless and IDM (1) See identity management.

(2) (Integrated Device Manufacturer) A company that performs every step of the chip-making process, including design, manufacture, test and packaging. Examples of IDMs are Intel, AMD, Motorola, IBM, TI and Lucent.
companies to design and manufacture their system ICs quickly. The company provides a variety of process technologies from 0.35um to most advanced 0.15um process technologies with embedded memory and analog solutions. For more information visit Anam's website at www.aaww.com.

About InTime

InTime Software develops EDA solutions that use floorplanning techniques to achieve early timing closure for complex ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) Pronounced "a-sick." A chip that is custom designed for a specific application rather than a general-purpose chip such as a microprocessor. , SoC, and ASSP (Application Specific Standard Part) An ASIC chip that is designed as a generic device for a particular market. Whereas an ASIC is typically used only by its creator, ASSPs are used by many different companies in the design of their products. See ASIC.  designs before synthesis and place and route tools are run. The products provide designers insight into timing, area and layout at the pre-RTL, RTL and gate level and improve the design flow into 3rd party synthesis and physical design systems. InTime is headquartered at 10131 Bubb Road, Cupertino, CA, 95014. The company has sales and support offices in Silicon Valley, Austin and Boston. InTime products are distributed in Japan through Innotech Corp., in Taiwan through Maojet, and in Korea through I&C Technologies.
