Analogic Corporation Receives 510(k) FDA Clearance for Its FETALGARD Lite - NIBP Multifunctional Fetal Monitor.

PEABODY, Mass. -- Analogic Corporation (NASDAQ: ALOG) announced today that the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has given market clearance for the FETALGARD Lite(R) - NIBP (Non-Invasive Blood Pressure) fetal monitor.

The FETALGARD Lite - NIBP measures maternal non-invasive blood pressure for monitoring Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension (PIH) in addition to providing standard fetal monitoring capabilities. It is ideal for conducting routine Non-Stress Tests (NSTs) and for evaluating high-risk, pre-term patients at home or in the physician's office. FETALGARD Lite - NIBP offers "beat-to-beat" fetal heart rate analysis on twins, and measures maternal uterine activity and blood pressure. This uniquely versatile fetal monitor is portable, battery-operated, and weighs only 5 lbs., making it appropriate for use in a variety of settings. It also offers the first alternative to Z-fold paper because the FETALGARD Lite - NIBP can store and transfer tracings to a PC for viewing, reporting, and printing. Alternatively, multiple patients' records can be stored and subsequently "fast printed" to an Analogic Z-fold recorder when hard copies are needed for review or patient records.
