Incorporating the EXACT, the eXaminer 3DX 6000 is the first EDS able to provide continuous computed tomography (CT) images to examine an entire bag in one pass, analyzing about ten times more data per bag than the previous generation of machines. Conceived, designed, developed and manufactured by Analogic, the EXACT is the world's first dual-energy-capable, helical-cone-beam, multi-slice CT scanner.

Anticipating marketplace demands, Analogic had made during the past fiscal year a considerable financial investment in readying the EXACT for volume production. The production staff has been assembled and trained and new manufacturing equipment installed to ensure the Company would be able to ship these sophisticated systems in a timely manner.

In addition, Peter W. Harris, President of International Security Systems, a subsidiary established by Analogic to focus its efforts on security applications, stated that the EXACT, employing proprietary interrogation software, had successfully detected narcotics and other contraband substances in recent demonstrations for government officials. "These other applications offer significant opportunities for further commercial exploitation and are currently being addressed by ISS."
