EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Applied Wave Research, Inc. (AWR(R)) a leading provider of high-frequency electronic design automation (EDA) tools, today announced that Analog Office(TM) design suite, a complete solution for next-generation analog and radio-frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) design, has been selected for the prestigious 2004 LSI of the Year Award. The product won in the Design Environment/Development Tools category against 150 other nominations. Sponsored by Semiconductor Industry News and Reed Exhibitions Japan, the awards were announced at the annual Embedded System Expo & Conference (ESEC) in Tokyo on July 7.

The comprehensive Analog Office solution provides analog and radio-frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) designers with the first, complete IC design system in over a decade. The software is specifically architected and optimized from the ground up and enhanced to provide the industry's most open, unified design environment, offering full interaction with a comprehensive and powerful set of integrated tools.

"It is an honor to receive this notable award from one of Japan's leading technology publications," said James Spoto, AWR president and CEO. "Being selected by such a prestigious committee of world renowned professors from leading Japanese universities lends special significance to this award. It is continued validation of the growth of the high-frequency design community in Japan and strong demand for AWR products in the region."
