(R) processor for its line of Masimo Rainbow(TM) SET pulse CO-Oximeter(TM) products. The custom-coded SHARC processor was chosen for Masimo's next generation product for its proprietary signal processing algorithms that utilize 40-bit floating-point format, which provides enhanced precision that is critical for medical devices such as the Masimo pulse CO-oximeter.

For over a decade, Masimo has utilized the SHARC technology to power its Radical(R) pulse oximeter pulse oximeter

non-invasively. The newest generation of monitoring solutions utilizes SHARC processing technology to offer the industry's only pulse CO-Oximeters, providing non-invasive carbon monoxide carbon monoxide, chemical compound, CO, a colorless, odorless, tasteless, extremely poisonous gas that is less dense than air under ordinary conditions. It is very slightly soluble in water and burns in air with a characteristic blue flame, producing carbon dioxide;  monitoring while maintaining the highest levels of accuracy, patient safety, and ease of use. With original coded SHARC processors in place to protect the pulse CO-Oximeter's unique and patented technology, Masimo has unveiled a new generation of devices that will build on the company's family of medical signal processing technologies.

"By customizing its SHARC processor with specific code designed for our Radical line, Analog Devices has done its part to keep Masimo at the cutting edge of innovation, and has proven the value of a long term partnership that has allowed both companies to excel," said Yongsam Lee, executive vice president of operations and CIO CIO: see American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations.

of Masimo. "The unparalleled accuracy and non-invasive nature of our Radical pulse oximeters are innovations stemming from Masimo's partnership with Analog Devices."

"Analog Devices and Masimo have had a long, successful relationship, one that will continue to mature as we work together on a future generation of Radical," said Jerry McGuire, of Analog Devices. "As an early adopter of SHARC processor technology, Masimo is a valued partner that has clearly experienced the benefits of signal-processing, such as simplified product development and reduced time to market."

About Masimo

Masimo, founded in 1989, is the inventor and leader of Signal Extraction Technology(R) for the non-invasive monitoring of vital signs. Masimo Signal Extraction(TM) Technology, or Masimo SET(R), represents the standard of care for pulse oximeters. With its worldwide introduction in 1998, Masimo SET overcame data dropouts, false alarms and inaccurate measurements due to patient motion, low perfusion and other challenging conditions. Over 100 clinical studies support the conclusion that Masimo SET is the most effective pulse oximeter in the world.

With the advent of Rainbow(TM) Technology, Masimo ushers in a new era for noninvasive monitoring, where patients at risk of respiratory and cardiac complications, carbon monoxide poisoning Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Definition
