Analog Devices Offers Air Interface Protocol Software to Ease Wireless Product Design.

NORWOOD, Mass. -- New ADIismLINK enables designers to establish a radio link with ADI's ADF702x ISM-band transceivers and development boards straight out of the box.

Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE: ADI), a global leader in high-performance semiconductors for signal processing applications, today introduced a new development tool for its ISM (industrial, scientific and medical) band transceivers. ADIismLINK protocol software speeds wireless product development by allowing designers to establish a radio link between multiple ADF702x transceivers straight out of the box. By simplifying the design process, ADIismLINK brings valuable benefits to designers of wireless equipment in a wide range of applications, including home and building automation, industrial automation, consumer and communication electronics, alarm and security systems, and smart sensor networks.

Utilizing the ADIismLINK tool, wireless product designers can transfer data between multiple units (slave node) and a master node (another ADF702x device) without having to spend time developing their own protocol software. The ADIismLINK software is available as part of the existing hardware development kits offered by ADI for its ADF702x family. The ADIismLINK software is also transportable to ADI's MicroConverter(R) family of precision analog microcontrollers which combine precision analog functions, such as high resolution ADCs and DACs, a voltage reference, and temperature sensor, with an industry-standard microcontroller and embedded flash memory.

About Analog Devices ADF702x ISM Transceiver Family

Analog Devices ADF702x family of ISM transceivers is well-suited for audio, cordless phones, video over ISM, low-rate connectivity, security systems and automatic meter reading, featuring low power and minimal external components. Analog Devices family of ISM transceivers currently consists of the ADF7020 and ADF7025 which are extremely low power and operate in the license-free bands at 433, 868, and 902-928 MHz. ADI also offers the Othello family of RF transceivers for cellular handsets.

In addition to the ADIismLINK software, ADI provides ADIsimPLL, a phase-locked loop (PLL) circuit design and evaluation tool. The popular ADIsimPLL development tool supports simulations of all key non-linear effects that impact PLL performance. The tool allows designers to work at a high level and directly modify derived parameters such as the loop bandwidth, phase margin and pole locations, and instantly observe the effects of the changes on performance. Analog Devices recently introduced a new version of ADIsimPLL development tool, Version 2.7, which is also available as a free download from the company's website.
