An insight into oriental ways.PUPILS have been undertaking a week of workshops in Chinese language and culture. Students from schools across Wales, including Cathays High and Pentyrch Primary schools, in Cardiff, and Gellifaelog Junior School, Merthyr Tydfil, enjoyed the workshops as part of the 10th annual Welsh International Dimension in Education (WIDE) Award Day. The workshops in the Mandarin language, Chinese calligraphy calligraphy (kəlĭg`rəfē) [Gr.,=beautiful writing], skilled penmanship practiced as a fine art. See also inscription; paleography.
