An extra class apart; Rush for Human Resource Management.

MORE students than ever before are keen to study human resources at Central College.

The Glasgow college have received a record number of applicants this year.

So much so that they are running an extra HNC Human Resource Management class from September.

Central College are one of only two in Scotland recognised by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, which means any student who completes the HNC will qualify for associate membership of the Institute.

The course prepares students for careers in Human Resources covering areas including recruitment, employment relations, law and payroll.

On successful completion of the one-year course, students can progress to the HND Human Resource Management programme. Students can then go on to a degree at the University of theWest of Scotland, Edinburgh Napier University, HeriotWatt University and Stirling.

George McVerry, head of the School of Business at Central College, Glasgow, said: "The vast majority of our Human Resource Management students progress on to university and then to employment in HR, which is testament to the quality of teaching."
