An eco-futurist's toolbox.
Perhaps most famous for hosting rocker Axl Rose at his progressive
farm, Elliott Maynard, Ph.D. is a renaissance man who made his mark as a
sought-after futurist, marine biologist, educator, artist, photographer,
researcher on conscious ness and management consultant. His Sedona,
Arizona-based Arcos Cielos Research Center is an interdisciplinary
institute seeking answers to global human and ecological problems.
Maynard's new book, Transforming the Global Biosphere, Twelve
Futuristic Strategies ($24.95), is published by the nonprofit center.
The fact-filled, journalistic tome not only analyzes the many threats
facing our environment, but it also introduces a fascinating array of
creative solutions, from new ways of using technology to teach
sustainable living to alternative sources of energy and innovative
recycling projects.
